OF SPECIALIZATION Richmond Relationship Counselling Services is a private practice located in the Health Sciences Center in Richmond, BC. We offer counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. In my practice, I specialize in the following areas: · Couple counselling · Sexual issues · Relationship issues – family, friendship, and workplace · Anxiety, panic disorders, and phobias · Depression · Survivors of childhood trauma, neglect and abuse · Post Traumatic Stress · Loss and bereavement · Confusion and dissatisfaction in living · Men’s issues, e.g. anger/depression, gender roles, spirituality and sexuality My philosophy: As children, we accept the perceptions and beliefs of our parents or caregivers. We define ourselves in accordance with their way of relating to us. We believe we must fit with their perceptions in order to survive. In this process we sometimes turn away from our core, our sense of our true self. Consequently, as adults, we may feel that something important is missing from our lives. We may experience anxiety, depression or addictive behaviours. We may feel fragmented and long for wholeness. I believe we all have the potential to reconnect with our inner truth, to develop a more accurate and solid grasp of our purpose in living. My practice is supported by ongoing review of current literature in the field, ongoing consultation with colleagues, and attendance at workshops, seminars, and supervised clinical training pertinent to my areas of specialization.
